Skiwelt Huette
The Skiwelt Hütte in Brixen im Thale, Tyrol, Austria is long known by the locals as a good restaurant and a cozy spot to rest. The team needed a new site to have a central point of communication to their customers. The site should both display general information like opening hours as well as location specific things such as that there is an umbrella bar and a playground.
Look and feel
The owner wanted to shift the main target group to a younger audience, which is why I wanted to give the site a "modern but cozy" look. To keep a streamlined feel I also took the photos shown on the site. The background-brown for example was chosen because the design should remind of the often used wood for the building itself. The display font on the other hand should feel like a newspaper typo.
Other functionality
Two of the main functionalities needed on the site where the client managable Events-section and the custom Contact-form. In the backend both the events and some other information like the opening hours are managed by a headless CMS - Directus. There are also a lot of international guests visiting the hut in the winter, which is why we needed a language switcher for german, english and dutch. Also a custom gallery was built with SwiperJS and vanilla JS to have a more integrated feel to the site.
